Giant Rats Run Wild in New York City KFC/Taco Bell - WCBS, WNBC video
There's something new on the menu at a Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) and Taco Bell restaurant in Greenwich Village, on 6th Avenue and West 4th Street in New York City: rats, and probably also rat droppings. And not the fun kind of rats that you play with at home. Good thing for you that we have video or you wouldn't believe it, would you?WNBC has more details about the fast food operation that is now closed down for health code violations:A viewer called the WNBC tipline (1-866-NEWS-CH4) with information about the rats. When NewsChannel 4 reporter Adam Shapiro visited the restaurant, he was shocked when he saw several rats running wild across the floor.
The New York City Department of Health recently said the restaurant had a clean bill of health. However, after the rats were captured on video, the Health Department vowed to do another inspection.
The restaurant was planning to open at 11 a.m. Friday, but will be closed until the Health Department clears it for business, said a senior official with the Health Department. Managers of the restaurant showed up Friday morning, fought through the crowd of cameras, and rushed inside without speaking about the issue.
This restaurant has had many problems with the Health Department before, having been cited in 2006, 2005 and 2004. Just two months earlier, the restaurant had been cited with having "evidence of live mice" but since then, the Health Department Web site shows that the issue was resolved.Labels: fast food, KFC, New York, rats

Apparently she calmed herself down enough and perhaps made a deal with Kevin regarding Sean and Jayden because late last night, Britney went back to Promises rehab center. Among the cast of characters include the doctor who is quickly becoming infamous for prescribing methadone to a then very pregnant Anna Nicole. Both Larry Birkhead and Howard K. Reporter Pelted With Beads at Mardi Gras
Reprters just love to go down to Louisiana for Mardi Grad. With all the booze, beads, and ...er..girls...it's a paradise for craziness. This reporter from Fox News 4 in Kansas City, attempted to file a report from the parade route but some revelers with a bunch of beads had other ideas. Word to the wise, those beads can really hurt. NBA Slam Dunk Contest 2007 Highlights - Boston's Gerald Green
The highlight of the annual NBA All-Star game is almost never the game itself, but usually the dunk contest. The 2007 edition in Las Vegas was no exception. This report comes from Sports Illustrated:Say this much for Saturday's All-Star Slam Dunk Contest. It was creative.
Gerald Green's "Dee Brown Tribute." Nate Robinson's "Statue of Liberty." Dwight Howard's "Sticker."
This year's Slam Dunk might not have been the greatest. It sort of flickered out at the end like a broken Vegas neon sign, thanks in large part to Robinson's decision to test the limits of the Nate Robinson Rule.
But the first round at least was fun, amusing the Thomas & Mack Center crowd of 15,000 with some highly-imaginative efforts.
While Green and Robinson made it to the finals, Howard had probably the most memorable dunk of the night. Taking a lob pass from teammate Jameer Nelson, the 6-11 Magic forward leaped high and placed a sticker on the backboard with his left hand while jamming the ball home with his right. For comic effect, Nelson then pulled out a tape measure to reveal the sticker had been placed at 12'6".
