Chicago Cop Punches Female Bartender Who Wouldn't Serve Him
That ain't right! More from First Coast News:A bar beating caught on tape lands a Chicago police officer behind bars. He is accused of throwing the punches -- brutally attacking the much-smaller bartender -- after she refused to serve him alcohol last month.
Anthony Abbate was clearly behaving badly even before he attacked the 25-year-old bartender. Security video shows the 38-year-old off-duty police officer throwing down the petite woman and beating her repeatedly.
"He came behind the bar and beat a sweet, 5-foot-3, 120 pound woman senseless by throwing her around like she was a sack of potatoes, kicking her, and punching her repeatedly when she was drunk," the victim's attorney Terry Ekl said.
Abbate appeared in court Wednesday to answer what were previously misdemeanor battery charges and are now felony charges, which involve the state's attorney's office.Labels: bartender, beatings, cops

The Polar Bear Cub That Animal Activists Want Killed
We normally hear animal activists whining about saving every living thing from brine shrimp to lions. So it caught our attention when we came across the video of the baby polar bear they came out wanting to kill it. The cub in question is named Knut, a polar bear abandoned by his mother at the Berlin Zoo (I just went out to get a pack of smokes, I swear!). So zookeepers decided to feed him by hand. Here is what some activists had to say, thanks to MSNBC.com:BERLIN - Berlin Zoo's abandoned polar bear cub Knut looks cute, cuddly and has become a front-page media darling, but an animal rights activist insists it was wrong to intervene and save the cub.
"Feeding by hand is not species-appropriate but a gross violation of animal protection laws," animal rights activist Frank Albrecht was quoted as saying by the mass-circulation Bild daily, which has featured regular photo spreads tracking fuzzy Knut's frolicking.

No one gets into a fight like hockey or tackles anyone like American football but lately, it seems to be getting more interesting. This video shows an angry fan trying to take out the opposing teams player.According to AOL Sports: After Chelsea's victory, a Tottenham supporter fan onto the field, and tried to punch Frank Lampard. Security got to him before he could whale on Frankie, but he did get on the pitch. A Chelsea fan got on the field, too, in hopes of thwarting the idiot Tottenham fan, I suppose. Both idiots were detained by security. No one was hurt.

Madonna has made the leap into legitimate clothing design...sort of... by designing cheap clothing for retailer H&M. As a designer, it seems like a requirement to make bizarre, artsy advertisements (anyone remember Calvin Klein's Obsession? Yeah, we try not to either). In this one, Madonna appears to be trying to make over a girl but she ends up wearing the same outfit as Madonna. We're too confused to explain anymore. Remember Apple's 1984 commercial against Microsoft that parodied the book 1984 with the giant talking head on a TV screen being smashed by a hot chick in shorts? It was simply titled "Think Different." Now there's an updated version of it called "Vote Different." French Slalom Skier Yannick Bertrant Takes Hit to Groin
Thanks to our friends at Break.com for posting this very funny, but very painful video of French skier Yannick Bertrand straddling the gate while going downhill and takes a shot to the groin during his super-g attempt in Kvitfjell, Norway. Big surprise, he didn't manage to finish the race.

In a truly amazing moment in football (or soccer to us Yankees), Paul Robinson managed to score a goal from 80 yards away, more than half-way across the field. This Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper drilled a free kick over the opposing goalie's head and into the net. Watching the clip reminded us of how rewarding it is to play foosball with a 10 year old. Robinson felt pretty good about it, telling Sky Sports News "It was a bit of a freak really. All I had on my mind was putting it up there for our strikers to get on the end of.... And a Happy Saint Patrick's Day to you, too, officer! Here's more on the story from LiveLeak:Speeding and aggressive drivers in Orange County needed more than the luck of the Irish to avoid a traffic citation on Thursday.
An Orange County sheriff's deputy dressed as a leprechaun and equipped with a laser speed-detection gun targeted speeding and reckless motorists in the area of University Boulevard and state Road 417.
The "leprechaun" also held a sign reading, "Watch your speed or it will cost you your pot of gold."
Motorcycle units stopped violators and issued the traffic citations after being informed by the "leprechaun" via radio. Officials said they issued about a ticket per minute.
A lot of the drivers complained about the method, calling it entrapment
"I think that's just ridiculous," a deputy said. "The (leprechaun) didn't force anybody to speed."
Orange County sheriff's deputies said the laser gun enabled the on-duty "leprechaun" to clock a vehicle long before the driver would see him.
In the past, Orange County sheriff's deputies have targeted speeding motorists while dressed as an elf, the Grinch and a man waiting for a bus.
