Raw Video of Escalator Accident in Tokyo
We had no idea that so many people could fit on an escalator until we saw this video and saw why it's not a good idea. The escalator going down stopped abruptly and it was like human dominoes crushing into each other. Twenty people were injured but not seriously. Lets set 'em up and do it again!!

Creepy Japanese Child Robot - CB2 Emulates Toddler
This thing is interesting and creepy at the same time. Here's more from Coolest-Gadgets:The robot is designed with an AI that allows it to act much like a 1-2 year-old baby. It has natural reactions to stimuli, recognizes objects, sounds and has an advanced tactile system.
For the quick and natural movements, traditional servos have been replaced with 56 pneumatic ‘muscles’. The sheer count allows for natural motion, while the system gives them speed. The not-so-cool part is the need for air tubes, so the robot isn’t completely autonomous.
It has microphones for eyes and two cameras for eyes. The eyes also move rapidly and track what’s happening around. Additionally, it has 197 tactile sensors that allow it to react to touch.

Nose Landing of Japanese Bombardier DHC-8 in Osaka - Crew of All Nippon Airways (ANA) couldn't get nosegear down
What happens if the landing gear on your jet doesn't come down when you need to land? You land the plane nose first, of course. Here's more from Reuters:An All Nippon Airways (ANA) plane carrying 56 passengers and four crew landed safely at Kochi Airport in southern Japan on Tuesday after its nose gear failed to descend, live TV footage showed.
The plane landed on its rear wheels and progressed down the runway before the nose touched down and some sparks flew. Fire trucks then sprayed the plane with water.
Passengers disembarked through the cabin door, many carrying hand luggage, and boarded a bus for the airport terminal. A Transport Ministry official said there were no injuries.Labels: airline accident, japan

That's one ugly fish! Japanese TV Network Apologizes for "Topless" Dancers on New Years Eve Show
How was your New Years Eve? Too bad you weren't in Japan. This story comes to us from the New Zealand Herald:A troupe of dancers in skin-coloured body suits had Japanese national broadcaster NHK apologising to viewers of its New Year's Eve music special for what seemed to be a full-scale Janet Jackson-style wardrobe malfunction.It's a couple of minutes in to this 5 minute clip, but well worth it.
The dancers, who all appeared to be topless and wore skimpy bikini-style bottoms and feathered head-dresses, covered the stage during a performance by singer DJ OZMA, prompting about 250 viewers to phone in and complain.
"The dancers were wearing body suits, but we apologise for any misunderstanding," a presenter announced towards the end of the 57th annual Red and White Song Contest.
"I guess it looked a bit too real," local media quoted the singer as telling reporters after the show, which regularly tops viewer ratings on New Year's Eve in Japan.
